Page with typical fronts |

Front set well back on ribs, good prosternum, nice angle to the pastern, nicely fitted front with chest of good depth. |

Nicely shaped bone and feet, nice curvature of radius/ulna, though the chest itself appears to be slightly slab-sided (could be a young dog?). Shows good shoulder angulation, elbows closely fitting, correct amount of turn out of feet and well let down in brisket. Nice outline from the side, showing some projection of the prosternum, the upper arm may be marginally short. |

Front legs nicely moulded around chest. Lacks some bone substance and shape is more oval than round. Note feet which are more oval-shaped rather than round. From the side, a suggestion of a short upper arm and front without sufficient prosternum. (Though this could be due to the angle of the photo). |

Slightly better front than above With stronger, better shaped
bone and feet.May |

Shows nice bone and good round feet, nice curvature around
the chest, unfortunately has too |

Too much crook and chest lacks depth of brisket - notice the space between radius/ulna and chest wall. Side view shows apparent knuckling over caused by a deformity of the left forearm. This is a classic case of overgrowth of the radius, causing both too much bend to the forearm and the knuckling over.. This condition could be caused be a growth plate injury. Nails could be shorter |

Nicely fitted front, quite well let down, nice bone. Front feet have too
much turn out and are flat. |

Nicely fitted front. Could be better let down in front and has very little turn out, but both quite acceptable in younger exhibits. Nice bone with substance and correctly shaped feet but could be better padded. Nice gentle angle to the pasterns. |
Nicely fitted front with good bone, nice short pasterns but a little upright. Could have deeper chest. Feet a little flat, and a slight suspicion that this one could knuckle over. |
Ribshape too rounded and shallow, giving wider front. Too much space between radius/ulna and ribcage, |
Nice prosternum from side, pasterns too straight, nicely fitted |

Incorrect terrier straight front. Lacks the desired curve around the chest and depth in brisket. This is a very serious fault as it shows lack of breed type. Note from the side view the upright pastern. This dog will be short striding and inefficient on the move. |
