The Cardigan Head
Faulty or untypical heads:

Head 4.jpg (5318 bytes)
fh1
Incorrect proportions of skull to muzzle (muzzle too short).
Seems to lack parallel planes of skull and muzzle. Ears difficult to assess, maybe hooded.

Head 5.jpg (9023 bytes)
fh2
Soft ears;
lacks proper Cardigan expression (alert and gentle, watchful, yet friendly), mostly due to incorrect eye shape and a muzzle that is broad and lippy, rather than rounded and more tapered.

Head 3.jpg (5492 bytes)
fh3
Too long in muzzle and stop needs more definition, ears appear too small and set too low.

Ears too erect red.jpg (7868 bytes)
fh4
Lacking breed type. Is too pointed in features, lacking the smooth curves that define a Cardigan.  Ears are  too small and set too high and erect.  Muzzle is pointed rather than rounded. Overall a rather hard expression.

Not enough stop S2.jpg (10315 bytes)
fh5
Lacks breed characteristics. Narrow
head, lacks stop, muzzle too long.

Head too blocky S2.jpg (11838 bytes)
fh6
Blocky head, overdone in stop, short muzzle,  topskull  domed instead of flat.

heavy.jpg (8248 bytes)
fh7
Head too heavy all over, short in muzzle with too much stop and heavy flews giving lippy appearance.

Hawkeye.jpg (7235 bytes)
fh8
Domed skull, overdone in stop and short muzzle and lips that don't fit cleanly. Could be a puppy.

Dog_Dish_Face_JD.jpg (10299 bytes)
fh9
Lacks breed type, is too long in muzzle and dish-faced, lacking the parallel planes of the top skull and muzzle (reminds of a pointer).
